Awakening Of The Dead ~ Final Project Finished
This our second and final attempt at copying the Awakening Of The Dead project. We think that this attempt is much better than our first, with better continuity and a variety of shots using both the tripod and holding the camera in hand. In this project we chose to use three zombies and four humans instead of using six zombies and four humans like in the actual version. We are happy with the way it turned out.

The Three Zombies
This photograph is of the three zombies in our short horror film, we used fake blood and red fabric paint to create blood stained t-shirts and cut holes into the t-shirts to make the zombies look scary and more realistic. As before we used white foundation, black eyeshadow and face paint for the make up.

Zombie Make Up
These are photographs Before and After zombie make up. We experimented with lots of different styles of make up - white paint - blood smeared on neck and then above - white foundation with lots of dark eyeshadow and eyeliner with a small amount of blood on the face and a bleeding scab on the forehead. We found that this style of make up to create a zombie look was much better than the one that we tried first with face paint as this one gave a better 'dead' effect making the person look diseased.
Awakening Of The Dead Practice Video
This is our first practice of the Awakening Of The Dead remake video. We tried to get a grasp of the location that we can use, what problems may occur and the lighting that we needed for continuity and to have clearer shots of the actors. Other shots we did were not included due to the bad continuity which was brought on by the fading natural light which made us rush the project. The other long shots were near a gate the lead up to that shot was not included making it unclear to how the actors got there. We will film again with more time to get the lighting right which will help improve the continuity, it will give us more time to get the shots needed and to get it right.

Awakening Of The Dead Short Film
This is the short horror film that we have chosen to copy for our short film project. We had to choose 30 seconds from the film to copy so we chose the first 30 seconds of it to set the scene and have plenty of shots to practice. This zombie film was also the only zombie film saved on the hard drive so we could only use this one to copy.

Ascending
Some of the clips that we used are slightly jumpy at the beginning and some have jumpy transitions, but there weren't any transitions suitable for the video.
Where the video moves from Joe walking up the stairs in a mid shot to hit feet stepping up one of the stairs, had to be carefully edited to make sure that his left foot was in the right place on the stairs when the clip changed to a different angle.

Behind You
This was our first practice using the cameras and trying out different types of shots and figuring out where would be a good place to put the camera. This practice video did not turn out very well because we didn't consider sound when we were filming so there is lots of background noise and people talking. Also many of the shots weren't very good because we didn't know much about camera position or continuity.
